Should I see a Practitioner or a Therapist?
- You should consult a TCM practitioner if you require TCM consultation, herbal medication, and acupuncture related forms of TCM treatment. You may opt to see a therapist if you prefer longer sessions of tuina massage therapy as part of your treatment plan.
- All TCM practitioners and therapist are registered TCM practitioner and trained therapist. They are licensed by the Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner’s Board under the Ministry of Health.
Can I request for consultation and/or treatment with a specific Practitioner Or Therapist?
Yes, you may check for your preferred practitioner’s/therapist’s clinic schedule.
Do you accept walk-ins or do I need to make an appointment to see a Practitioner/Therapist?
To consult our TCM practitioners / therapists at our general TCM centre, appointments are required. Kindly contact the centre directly to book your appointment. You may walk in but kindly note that it will be subjected to availability of practitioners / therapists and that priority and will be given to customers with appointments.
Do I get any discount for regular treatments?
Wong Yiu Nam offers various promotions throughout the year. Do follow our Facebook/Instagram/ Tiktok page for the latest updates.
Can I receive TCM treatment while taking western medicine?
- For most conditions, it is alright to receive both TCM treatment and western treatment simultaneously. You are advised to keep a 1-2 hours gap between the consumption of herbal medication and western medication.
- However, as each individual is different, it would be most ideal to consult both the TCM practitioner and your western doctor for their opinions on the most appropriate treatment plan for your condition.
What should I do if I feel unwell after consuming the herbal Medication?
Kindly stop taking the medication and consult your TCM practitioner. You may reach out to the centre where your practitioner is stationed.
Do your Practitioners do house/hospital visits?
We do not have house/hospital visits at the moment.
How long is the session with the Practitioner/Therapist?
The treatment times for Practitioner and Therapists vary. TCM consultations usually last 10-15 minutes, while therapy sessions with typically range from 20 minutes to 1 hour.
Can I return Herbal Medication?
As each herbal prescription is customised according to the individual’s body constitution and medical condition, we will not be able to accept any returns/refund of herbal medication.
Can I make medical insurance claims for my visits?
- You are highly encouraged to check with your insurer/company the TCM coverage and terms and conditions for reimbursement before receiving treatment at our centres. All claims have to be submitted by the individual customer and Wong Yiu Nam does not guarantee the success of reimbursement.
- Please inform our Customer Care during registration if you require further advice and assistance.
